Abstract: The present paper aims at expounding the ethics of Cärväka philosophy. Indian philosophy holds that all human pursuits or puruñärthas tend to fulfil the four ends of life, namely dharma, artha, käma and the mokña. Cärväka philosophy is primarily materialistic and atheist philosophy. So this philosophy accepts only käma and artha among the four human pursuits.
In the view of Cärväkas, fulfilment of desires or käma should be the main objective of life furthermore to attain and accomplish all the desires artha can be considered as another puruñärtha. According to the Cärväka philosophy, happiness of present life is the main goal of human life. Cärväka rejects the existence of god, soul, rebirth and karmaphala etc. This is the reason why Cärväka is also called hedonistic philosophy.
In brief, the main purpose of the present paper is to highlight the ethics of Cärväka philosophy in the light of above mentioned concepts.
