Abstract: The Agnipurāṇa occupies a prominent place among all the Purāṇas for the vast areas of knowledge it deals with. The ethical teachings revealed in its description of good governance bear a lot of importance since these have relevance for all times. In this paper a discussion is sought to be presented on the ethics and royal duties as Agnipurāṇa delineates keeping in mind the corrupted, demoralized scenery of today‖s degraded society
