Abstract: [The present study aims to elucidate the relevance of ancient Indian governance tactics in the contemporary scenario. By illustrative deduction, it is ascertained that the stable success of the epic rulers of India can be attributed to a formidable, vigilant and foresighted council of ministers. It also enumerates the type of ministers (based upon the department they observe) characteristics of able ministers, their code of conduct while they bear office and discusses their selection procedure as was followed in the ancient days.
